“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” 2 Corinthians 2:14
This world sometimes beats us up and tears us down. Pressures from without, pressures from within, finances, marriage problems, prodigal children, hopelessness, and depression.
I hope you’ve been encouraged and reminded that we have the victory in Jesus.
The best part about God giving us victory, is that as His children we have the ULTIMATE victory over sin and death.
We know who wins in the end. If we know that God has secured the end, shouldn’t we trust Him with everything in the middle, too? If He is strong enough to display His resurrection power in our lives and carry us through to eternity, isn’t He strong enough to take care of our problems now? Of course He is!
I encourage you to do this short prayer exercise:
Fill in the blank in your life. God, my biggest battle and trial right now is ______________. I cannot fight this battle on my own. You are able, and You desire to move in the lives of your children. Show me what to do, and give me the strength to walk forward in obedience. I trust that Your answer isn’t always what I want, but it is always what I need. I trust You for victory. You are Sovereign. Have Your Way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
1 Corinthians 15:55-57 says: “O Death, where is your sting?[h]
O Hades, where is your victory?”[i]The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Once we recognize that the sting of sin and death are gone, and God has given us the victory, we can walk forward in confidence, as the next verse states:
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Cor. 15:58)
Because we have the victory, we can be steadfast, we can abound in what God has set before us and called us to do. It is not in vain. Don’t lose heart or give up.
God Can. And if you are His child, He delights to move on your behalf. He will win the victory.
