I heard of three more people around this area who have passed away since this weekend. I realize that death is a natural part of life, but it seems here that it is sometimes overwhelming. Children die before their time from diseases that are either eradicated in the US or that are easily treatable elsewhere. People fight over land that doesn’t belong to them to begin with and it ends in senseless death. It is a bleak and yet important reminder- life is short. Here and everywhere.
We don’t know how many breaths we have to breathe; so what are we doing with each breath? Let’s take today to seize each moment, to make the most of every opportunity, every relationship, every path we cross. Have you been putting something off? Do it today. Are you waiting for someone else to apologize? Apologize to them instead today. Let us love to the fullest and give until it hurts. Let’s leave behind our childish, sinful ways and get to know God before we meet Him. Sure, we may have regrets from wasted time in the past; but let’s live starting this moment with no more regrets. Carpe Diem!
