“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all[a] these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[b]and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” Matthew 24:6-8
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will[a] have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
The world appears to be falling apart at the seams right now. Every news story breaks my heart more than the last.
Texas, Florida, India, Mexico, Puerto Rico and more affected by record breaking storms that have ripped lives apart.
Acts of terrorism all around the globe.
A serial killer right here in Uganda torturing and murdering women.
And now the horror that happened in Las Vegas.
Certainly, this only names a few of the things that have happened as of late. I don’t mean to minimize any or make one seem more tragic than another. All are heart wrenching. All make me cry out - how long, oh Lord?
I felt the need to write this week to encourage us who are believers in Jesus. Things are heating up, and we need to #1) be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who are suffering, #2) warn people to wake up, and #3) not be afraid but take courage in our Lord.
The Bible says that the things that are happening now would take place in the end times. It is not a surprise to God. He is still in control and He still has good plans.
Things are unraveling, but He will make all things new.
Times are difficult, but even in these painful times He is reaching out His hands to the lost.
Creation is crying out for God in the midst of increasing sin. Lawlessness is rampant. More than ever we need to stand up for the Word of God and be comforted (and comfort others) with the words of our Savior. For us who are found in Christ, we need not be troubled. Jesus has overcome the world. (If you don’t know what it means to be found in Christ and want to know more, please check out the two links below.)
Take heart, follower of Christ. Your redemption is nigh.
In the meantime, let your heart break for the lost and the broken. Let your wallets open to minister to those who are in need. Let your hands wash their feet and your tears pour for them. Let us show them what it means to be the Body of Christ. Let us live as if Jesus can come any moment, because He can.
If you want more information, below are two links of recent prophecy updates that I know about and would highly recommend:
This is a Youtube video of the prophecy update by Pastor Nathan Robinson (my pastor) at Chapel Falls Christian Fellowship last month.
This is a list of all recent Bible studies. Scroll down to find the Prophecy Update from September 10th. This is done by Pastor Johnny Zacchio at Calvary Chapel of Grace and Truth (a church very dear to my heart).
