The words flow freely and quickly, and I struggle to try to catch them on the way down. My fingers type but can’t seem to keep up…
This morning was hot again, with no power. I spent it in the classroom with the beautiful ladies that have become my sisters and friends. I taught them the final lesson for this class. After today, it will all be review and practical exercises before their graduation on April 4th. As we wrapped up the morning session, I was delighted to find that power came back, at least for the time being. I decided to work on a series of articles that I am submitting to the Community of Christian Service Workers. This is my second batch of articles, and I’m excited that they asked me for more. I was worried that the 100+ degree heat would hamper my inspiration, but it hasn’t at all. Infact, this is the most inspired I’ve felt in days. I realized that these ladies ARE an inspiration to me. When I see them and when I go to class to do what I was born to do, instead of depleting me, it causes me to overflow. Walking in my calling and living for purpose (and on purpose) does something that seems contradictory. The more you pour out, the more full you become. The more you give, the more you have.
“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 16:25
I don’t feel that I have lost anything, but rather gained everything.
God has a purpose for each one of us. If we sacrifice our small ambitions to follow after His plans for us instead, what we will find (immeasurable joy, peace, and love) far outweighs any possible trinkets we may leave behind.
