I mean a moment where you stop and think- Wow, am I really here living this? Could I be so privileged?
This past Saturday was one of those moments for me. We had our first Africa4God baptism. We had new believers come from four villages where we minister, as well as a village where our dear friends from Cornerstone Foundation do a woman’s Bible study and discipleship. We baptized around 35 people. It was such a beautiful time.
I am so blessed that my parents got to be here to celebrate with us. My dad (who is a pastor), along with Pastor Jimmy from our team here, baptized the people. Robb my husband helped them in and out of the water. My friend Bev and my mom helped dry people off with a towel. Wayne took photos. I called out names and got to tell them how proud I am of them. After the baptism we went across the street where we rented a room at a primary (elementary) school. Angela and Harriet worked hard cleaning and setting up the room. Florence and her daughter cooked the food. We all worked together as the Body of Christ. God’s heart is pleased when everyone uses their gifts together to accomplish His purposes.
Sometimes on the mission field it can get discouraging and we forget all that God has already done. Saturday was the opposite. I felt like God was showing me the fruit of our labor and how He honors our perseverance. We sang, danced, took a delicious meal together, listened to testimonies, and joyously celebrated God’s work in each person’s life.
It felt like Heaven touched earth as we watched the people publicly proclaim their faith.
If it made my heart so full, imagine what it did to the heart of God!
How beautiful it is, especially in this world where things can be so heavy and difficult, to celebrate the victories!!
In these days, God is moving. He is seeking and saving the lost. We can be a part of it, not if we are spectacular (thank God!), but if we are available.
What are some of your “Wow” moments?
